Merry Christmas and a thank you!

So, i couldn't unfortunately reach my computer on the 24th nor the 25th because i've been extremely busy with family stuff, shopping, friends etc.

A little belated but oh well, never too late, i want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and if you're not celebrating then i want to wish you Happy Holidays! May you be surrounded by your loved ones and feel all festive and cheery inside :)

On another note i noticed that i now have 90 followers which for me is something incredible and by this post i want to thank each and every single one of you for following my blog, for being ever so kind and commenting and all the good stuff that comes with it :)

Thank you to everyone and have a Happy Christmas!

ok ok, you say obsession, i say...

Hello beautiful girlies!

It's true that i've certainly been obsessing over a few things this past month or so, and it's not just make up, skin care, or clothes (which will be featured in a November/December favourites post pretty soon). There are some blogs out there that got me sucked in for good, so here goes the list.

1)Gala Darling goes first as i've been obsessed about reading her weekly carousels, life inspiration posts and more :) Favourite post of the moment : the filofax love affair

2)Second place goes to a style and beauty blog called Be in Style. It's a nice and very informative blog that i'm sure most of you will find helpful :) Favourite post of the moment :Cute fall accesories. Seriously been dying over those rings :)

3)Collegefashion couldn't NOT be in the list! I've been checking this every single day.( Twice i quite ashamelesly say) Favourite post of the moment: Top 5 reasons to Love Lush

4)Life full of fashion is another blog that i discovered recently. Elena sure is beautiful. Favourite post: Atelier Loukia

5)B.Jones Style had to be in the list as well. I think she's beautiful and dresses elegantly. Favourite post of the moment:Preppy Fur.

6)All the Vanity is another one! I think Tina is beautiful, has gorgeous eyes and i like her loads! ;) Favourite post of the moment :NYX tutorial

7)And last but not least, i've been checking LLYMLRS on a daily basis. This girl is such an inspiration. Favourite post :Wednesday Adams

So that is all. It's not much but all of these blogs have got plenty of content to go through!

I hope you're all doing ok!

favourite fragrances of the moment

Hello ladies!

I'm sorry I haven't been taking photos with my camera, it's just that it literally died for a couple of days and couldn't take any new pictures thus putting promotional pictures on my blog and not my own. I will be a better blogger from now on i promise :)

So, since September i've noticed that my liking in fragrances has been the same. It is true that i lean towards musky, vanilla and sweet fragrances and stay away from soap smelling perfumes. I am now going to list down all the perfumes that have me sniffing them for good in the last months or so!

all these pictures are courtesy of sephora.com!

1) Alien by Thierry Muggler

A favourite of mine, perhaps my all time favourite! Its scent is very warm, very mysterious and very feminine. The moment that i wear this i instantly feel more grown up, more glamorous. They say it's
a night fragrance but i absolutely have no problem wearing this during the day!
 The notes are: Solar Accord, Jasmine Sambac, Green Notes, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Transparent Amber
~My best friend actually told me the other day that this smells a little bit like Tsoureki which is a, Balkan cuisine, sweet bread. I can see where she's coming from as this might be from the Vanilla and Cashmera notes :)

2) Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf

A very feminine, fragrance. It feels sexy, femme fatale and all those bombshell adjectives you can think off! :) You need to smell this( as a polite way to say, you NEED this in your life)
The notes are : Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli.

3) Euphoria by Calvin Klein

Just a little bit smimilar to Flowerbomb although clearly more sporty and lighter Euphoria has been a staple for many women over the years and i believe that it has rightly done so.
The notes : Pomegranate, Persimmon, Green Notes, Black Orchid, Lotus Blossom, Champaca Flower, Liquid Amber, Mahogany Wood, Black Violet, Cream Accord.

4) Angel by Thierry Muggler

The funny thing is that this clean, vanilla scent is actually very similar if not identical with a bathbomb and body lotion that i got from Fresh line( Greek equivalent of Lush) from the Cassandra range. It smells beautiful and i SO wanted them to have a perfume in this range. and then i took a sniff of Angel and oh my good, they smell alike :)
The notes: Bergamot, Hedione, Helional, Honey, Dewberry, Red Berries, Vanilla, Caramel, Patchouli, Chocolate, Coumarin.

5) Tendre Poison by Dior

I hear they discontinued this? Not sure so i'll have to check  my local sephora.
So basically the only way to describe it is that it's a softer version of the original Poison. Smells a bit fruity and musky as well, it's the perfect mixture to wear during the day and during the night :)
The notes: galbanum, mandarin and freesia. The middle notes are: orange, honey and amber and the base of the fragrance is: vanilla, sandalwood and cedarwood.

6)Belle D' Opium by YSL

The funny thing is that when i first sprayed this on my wrists i absoutely hated it and was very worried as to why people seem to love it. Nevertheless when the very top notes are gone, it has a beautiful scent, as seductive and captivating as its name :)
The notes: top notes-mandarin orange, plum, clove, coriander and pepper mid notes of jasmine, rose, Lily of the Valley, cinnamon and peachand rounding out the bottom with sweet base notes containing sandalwood, vanilla, cedar wood, myrrh, amber, musk and patchouli.

Sorry for the long post :) I hope you guys enjoyed reading this. What are YOUR favourite fragrances? Are you more of a sweet-scent girl? a fruity one? or maybe a soap-like one? In the comments!!!

Inspiration of the moment!

One of my favourite blogs, streetfsn, features daily looks of stylish people walking by the street.
I saved those three pictures as my Autumn/Winter inspiration.

Creams, beiges, camels, nudes, soft warm browns, burned oranges and reds in junky knitted jumpers, 50's lady-like skirts and long coats. Need I say more?

What is your winter inspiration? Favourite winter colours? Let me know :)

Purchase of the week!

Hello guys!

To me autumn/winter is all about bold lips. Rasberry/cherry lips during November and then December is all about the bold Red lip. This year i intend to step away from the classic blue red and go for the orangey red one :)

I got these two lipsticks from Mac recently and fell in love with them immediately!

Media(left), Lady Danger(right)

Media is like the perfect dark rasberry colour! It looks like it's brown in the tube but once you swatch it or put it on your lips it comes of as a deep rasberry colour.

Lady danger is something i wanted to purchase for ages! It's an orangey red colour, and it seems to me that it's a more kind of orangey version of Ruby Woo ,by Mac as well. Makes it perfect for this year's Christmas!

Here come some crappy swatches, the colours look much more magnificent in real life, promise!

What do you guys think? Have you tried them? What are your favourite autumn/winter lipstick colours? Let me know in the comments! :)

Emma Watson, is that a Hit or Miss?

Hello my beautiful readers,
So yesterday it was the Warner Bros. Leavesden Studio Renovation photocall and quite a few Harry Potter peeps turned out including Emma Watson. To be honest i'm making this post to express how appalled i felt when seeing pictures of this look in contrast to what other fashion blogs/and not wrote and generally media's admiration towards Emma for the event. I'm aware that everybody's entitled to their own opinion, but just plain and BLIND admiration is upseting me.

The make up:

I'm going to start stating that i am a big Emma Watson fan and this is a post nowhere near to bash her but to write a review expressing my opinion on her last night's appereance. So first comes make up as this is what i noticed first and i'm going to say that the moment i first saw this, despite being different, i immediately hated it. Thankfully now it has grown on me but there are still a few flaws here and there that make this look a bit 'off'.

Firstly, the eyeshadow/eyeliner combo works great on her as her almond shaped eyes would probably suit any kind of eye make up. The only let down is the mascara. Mind you, i am a big fan of mascara, the biggest if possible, i'm always about making your eyes pop with mascara and define them with loads of it but i absolutely loathe seeing spider lashes. And in this case, i dislike seeing Emma's obviously artificial, spider lower lashes. There's too much mascara going on there. Unnecessary.
Another thing that put me off was her eyebrows. I usually love her full but groomed and well-shaped eyebrows. But what is this? Playing with your brow pencil much? It reminds me of her eyebrows from the CoS era. And my question is, WHY alter her eyebrow shape when it already is lovely? So that's a no.

But the biggest no-no was the lipstick, and not so much about the colour, but the shape? It looks ridiculous how they went overboard with her upper lip line. It looks clownish. The colour itself is ok, if it was applied in a normal way or any way that wouldn't make her look like a clown then it'd look lovely. Besides, anything ending with -berry is on trend this season.

Additionally, with such a gothic look, i'd prefer to give it some life, some colour to her cheeks, it appears to be none.

Furthermore one of my biggest pet peeves, lighter foundation??? Actually, when i first saw pictures i immediately thought of this but now seeing them again and also pictures without flash, i reckon it's the light reflectives or SPF in the foundation. Tell me, how could ANY make up artist apply a light-reflective, SPF, foundation to a celebrity for an event? How?

Overall, on the make up department she did ok, not bad, not good, average.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The clothes:
Now, what IS that? I have no idea where to start. First, i'm sure you can all sense a '90s feel with the velvety dress by Vionnet. Well i guess the dress itself is alright. I actually kind of like it, never mind the fabric, which i have to say, i HATE velvet. Seeing this on the whole it seems to me like a pile of stuff worn together, to be honest creating the impression that she tried TOO hard to be stylish/edgy that it just resulted in a not so beautiful, mismatched outfit. I'm not saying it's ugly, just mismatched. I like all of the pieces seperately, with my favourites being the ever so gorgeous Erickson Beamon earrings and the Christian Louboutin Ron Ron pumps but they just don't go well together.
On an overview, i could swear that this outfit, minus the completely random plastic or glass blue cuff and that long necklace by the same designer, but rather matched with a similar type bracelet/cuff in BLACK and without any necklace would be a pretty good look for Ms Watson.
Overall, this is not the best look for her, she can do SO much better, she's beautiful with a great body, she needs to embrace her own beauty rather than hide it in piles of make up. I don't often say this for Ms Watson but i'm afraid that this time around the clothes wore her. So that's a Miss for me.
On a side note, i'm not going to comment on her hair, yes the pixie cut's growing on me, it looks cute but I STILL prefer her longer hair, it suits her more.
Both images are courtesy of Sassy!
So I would give this look a C+ and the plus goes to her make up.
What do you guys think of her appereance? Do you like it? Hate it? Don't care? Comment and tell me! I do appreciate it.
1 Euro bargain from Sephora? Check!
Of course, when i saw this, i couldn't resist not getting not one, but TWO of these surprise boxes!:)
Each one, consists of 4 self-tanning wipes, a golden spray for the legs and a sparkling gell for face and body.
A mini review here: The self tanning wipes are good but if you are not careful they can turn your face a bit orange, the leg spray is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It gives such a nice glow and makes your lega look a bit more tanned and last but not least, the gel is something that i wouldn't use on my face as it's too glittery but on the top of my shoulders it look lovely! There you go!!!:)
I recommend this to everyone who wants to feel a bit more bronzed up and it's also really nice to take with you on holiday as they're travel size :)
Hope you guys are doing ok!
What's your beauty style? TAG!
I was tagged by the ever gorgeous Tina to do this tag, and of course i wouldn't miss doing that, would i?
1. What is your beauty style? (Natural, trendy, etc.)
It's a bit difficult to describe, but i would say i go for neutral looks most of the time, and suring summer there might me an occasional pop of colour. On the lips that is. Of course liking neutral colours wouldn't stop me from doing smokey looks and stuff. All in all i like my make up to be elegant, classy, timeless, barely there make up that keeps up with my ideology, that make up is to enhance your feautures not to hide them :)
2. Where do you get your beauty inspiration from?
I suppose i'm inspired by my favourite celebrities or even objects on every day life. Weird i know:s. Colours inspire me to the full. Also magazine editorial, fashion shows and of course people on my everyday life.
3. What beauty products do you have the most of?
This has to be blush and lipsticks! Blush is my no1 product to go. I think every woman needs to have a 'perfect' blush. It's the product that i spend most of my money on. I like to change colours, from warmer to cooler ones. I also like to mix them up. As far as lipsticks go, i want to have a plethora of options to choose from, from nudes to brights.
4. What's you favourite/holy grail colour for:
Eyes: Neutrals, duh!! It's safe i know but most of the time, i like wearing neutrals and from time to time some darker colour would be good as well as peachy coraly ones. I wouldn't be caught dead in bright, elecric blue or fuchsia though :P
Lips: I sort of like colours like modesty or freckletome by mac. Colours that you would describe them as 'your lips but only better". Neutral colours but not nudes.They may suit other people but they look ridiculous on me. I also really like wearing peachy/corally colours. I wouldn't mind wearing from a pale coral to a bright one:)
Cheeks: This one i wish i didn't have to choose cause i have no problem wearing any colour on my lips. From pinks bright pink to peaches to corals to beiges to golden browns. But i suppose if i had to choose based on the frequency that i use them, i would say corals.
Nails: Again, no problem with nail polish. But most of the time you'll catch me wearing a classic red or weird colours like gray, violet, khaki, blueish black.
5. Three favourite brands of the moment:
1. MAC, because i like the huge range of colours they have in eyeshadows, lipsticks and blushes. Their brushes are excellent and their skincare range is quite good as well. Their quality is good as well and for a high end brand, it's quite affordable.
2. Maybelline, because it HAS to be the best drugstore brand for me! I like their lipstick, their incredible mascaras, good quality foundation and their nice range of blushes.
3. Chanel, because i love their quality, the elegance that their products have from the packaging to the colour pallette itsef.
So, I am tagging:
2010 Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala Favourites
Hello guys, this is going to be a post on my favourites from last night's MET Ball.
To be honest this year's gala wasn't as crazy as it was last year, fashion wise.
Most of the attendees played it safe, others bold and others plain boring.
Here's my favourite ones!
Emma Watson, in Burberry: Wins first place as it's the only dress that actually screamed "wow" to me and she made it look classy rather than trashy never mind the huge slit.
Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad: Have never really been a Jennifer Lopez fan as far as fashion goes but i have to admit, last night she rocked it in this beautiful Cinderella-like gown. Props to her!
Naomi Watts, in Stella McCartney: Always ethereal, Naomi Watts graced this beautiful hot pink gown and looked as feminine as ever! ? also love the contrast the red lipstick she's wearing makes with her pink dress! Stunner!
Kate Bosworth, in Valentino
: Last but not least, the lovely Kate.Old Hollywood, there's nothing 'more' American than that! It is truly amazing how one person can make a somewhat plain/boring collection look interesting :)
So this is it i hope you guys enjoyed reading this. What were your favourites? Let me know!!!
